Since November 2016, the Missionary Community of Saint Paul the Apostle once again has had a permanent presence in the Archdiocese of Mexico.

The way in which we try to bring the Good News of the Gospel to the people is through specific actions in order to ease the suffering of the people. Hence, following the request of the Rt. Rev. Andrés Vargas Peña, Bishop of Xochimilco, we started working in an informal settlement of the City of Mexico called, ironically, “El Paraiso” (the paradise).

In “El Paraiso” we carry out weekly activities with the children and youth. We assist chronic sick people in their needs. We try to advise and give psychological counseling to families that have lived situations of extreme violence, poverty and marginalization. At the same time we have talks with people from different parts of Mexico city about the mission of the Church and the need of helping the smaller ones. We encourage them to take part in this work by assisting the families of El Paraiso. Among the youth that attended these talks we have found several of them who feel attracted by this way of living and transmitting the Gospel.
