Our Lady Queen of Peace, Todonyang is situated in the north- eastern part of the Diocese of Lodwar, bordering Ethiopia and Ilemi Triangle. Todonyang is a located under Lapur Division, North Turkana Sub-County in Turkana County.
Members of MCSPA have been working at Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish in Todonyang since 2006 when this mission was reopened. The aims of its establishment were to extend evangelical work to pastoralist communities in Todonyang and promote peace through making contacts and facilitating interaction between the Turkana and Dassanech who are involved in armed conflict. This would be achieved through initiating projects that bring the two communities together with the hope of embracing peace. In Todonyang, we are involved in “preparing the way of the Lord and making straight his path in order to bring in the salvation of God to his people” (Luke 3:4b-6).
The mission has made big steps in inducing cultural transformation, providing socio-economic developments and diversifying livelihoods. Conflict transformation and human development remains our priority.
